“circular RNA biology Training Network: from biogenesis to biomarkers”
Job Summary:
circRTrain is a Marie Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) funded by the European Commission within the Horizon 2020 program. This network of 7 academic research institutions/universities and 6 companies will provide cross-disciplinary training in experimental and computational biology for a new generation of researchers who will exploit the power of emerging technological platforms to decipher the biology of circular RNAs.
Job Description:
The lab of Irene Bozzoni, placed in Rome at the Sapienza University, will focus on: circRNA function in muscle and motor neuron differentiation and disease
The objectives are:
a) study the role of circRNAs in cell differentiation;
b) analyze whether deregulation of circRNAs is involved in the pathogenesis of different muscle (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Rhabdomyosarcoma) or neurodegenerative (Amyothrophic Lateral Sclerosis) diseases;
c) dissect circRNA function through the production of cellular and animal KO model systems;
d) analyze the ability of circRNAs to be translated (Legnini I. et al, Mol Cell, 2017)
e) set up conditions for circRNA pull down and purification of interacting factors.
Starting date: early 2019
